Jayne Phillips RGN MSc – Chief Executive

Jayne PhillipsJayne leads Halton Health’s development as a high quality, patient-focused organisation which is expanding to provide many healthcare services. Jane is a qualified nurse practitioner and experienced in out-of-hours triage. She has also worked as an A&E sister, and a community practice nurse with strong involvement in the development of practice nursing.

Dr Bruce Hughes, MB BS MRCGP – Medical Director

Dr Bruce HughesBruce is organisational medical director for Halton Health and helped to found the company. He is a non executive director and chair on the Board of Halton Health’s ‘parent’ company Devon Doctors. He is a partner in general practice in North Devon, and medical director of Little Bridge House, a branch of Children’s Hospice South West.

Chris WrightChris is also chief executive of Halton Health’s parent company Devon Doctors Ltd, established as one of the highest quality providers of out-of-hours care in England.  He previously held a number of senior NHS managerial and director level provider and commissioning roles.

Jayne Birkett, Primary Care Manager

 

Jayne BirkettJayne managers our daytime primary care services. She previously worked as a practice manager in a number of GP practices in Liverpool, and supported and developed other practices across the country. She also gained project management experience as a service change manager for NHS Liverpool.

Helen Edwards RGN, Dip HE, Dip counselling, Dip management, MSc clinical nursing - Senior Nurse Manager

Helen Edwards RGN

Helen provides leadership and support to our nursing team. Her nursing background is primarily within surgery. She runs a regional Urology Cancer Centre which is a gold standard centre for all complex Urological Cancers. She is a clinical nurse specialist for bladder cancer and counsels patients undergoing radical complex surgery. Helen also runs a surgical assessment unit which includes special surgery ENT and ophthalmology.

Janet Bowman, Urgent Care Manager

Janet Bowman

Jan has several years experience working for the Halton out-of-hours service, and has come from her role as service manager for our Warrington GP Health Centre. Whilst there she managed the cardiovascular disease screening programme and assisted with the day-to-day running of the health centre. Prior to this Jan has over 20 years NHS experience at the Halton and Warrington Hospitals.
