Peter provides clinical leadership for our Halton out-of-hours service, in addition to being the GP at our Windmill Hill Medical Centre. He is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. He trained as a GP in Liverpool and was involved in the ‘GP in A&E’ scheme in Aintree. He joined a GP practice in Widnes and worked as a duty GP for the Halton out-of-hours service. Peter’s interest in developing the GP role across different types of services led to his key role within Halton Health as a clinician and Board member.
Joanne provides clinical leadership to our three health centres in Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn. She has been a GP in Padgate, Warrington since 1992. She trained as a GP in Manchester and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She worked as chair of the Clinical Leadership Team (PEC) of NHS Warrington where she and her colleagues strove to improve services across the board. Joanne’s aim as a Halton Health director is to make primary care more accessible and flexible to meet patients’ needs.
Jayne provides clinical leadership for nurses working within our health centres and other non-urgent care services. She became a nurse after helping her grandmother through her cancer journey and retains a special interest in palliative care. She worked as an A&E sister and as a community practice nurse. She set up one of the first practice nurse roles in the North West and has been involved in the development of practice nursing since 1990. Jayne is a qualified nurse practitioner and has carried out clinical triage for Halton’s out-of-hours service since 1999.
June provides clinical leadership for nurses working within our Halton out-of-hours service. She also works as a clinician and nurse manager at Brookvale Practice. June has worked within the Halton out-of-hours service 1996. She qualified as a nurse in 1983 and gained experience on the surgery and minor injuries unit at Halton General Hospital. June’s qualifications cover triage, family planning, asthma, COPD, diabetes, teaching and assessing.
Bruce is organisational medical director for Halton Health and helped to found the company. He is a non executive director and chair on the Board of Halton Health’s ‘parent’ company Devon Doctors. He is a partner in general practice in North Devon, and medical director of Little Bridge House, a branch of Children’s Hospice South West. Bruce is interested in promoting the social enterprise model of healthcare on a national scale.
Chris is also chief executive of Halton Health’s parent company Devon Doctors, established as one of the highest quality providers of out-of-hours care in England. He previously held a number of senior NHS managerial and director level provider and commissioning roles. Chris is committed to the values of the NHS, and feels the social enterprise model of business is the most effective way to provide high quality, patient-focused health care.
Colin is also finance director of Halton Health’s parent company Devon Doctors. He has been a chartered accountant since 1994, and is a chartered taxation advisor. He has operated as a finance director since 2000 and has held directorships in the health industry since 2005. Colin also fits in shifts as a driver for our out-of-hours service in Devon.
Marie-Ann manages our Halton out-of-hours service, the single point of access (SPA) centre and the medical services for an intermediate care unit. Marie-Ann is on a secondment from NHS Halton and St Helens, where she previously had a commissioning role as head of urgent care. Within this role she project managed the successful opening of an NHS nurse led walk-in-centre. Marie-Ann was also set up the GP out-of-hours service. She began her career at a Halton General Hospital and spent many years there gaining NHS experience.
Jayne manages our health centres in Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn. She previously worked as a practice manager in a number of GP practices in Liverpool, and supported and developed other practices across the country. She also worked as a service change manager for NHS Liverpool, gaining project management experience and an understanding of how primary care trusts operate.
