Full-time or part-time GPs required to work within Halton Health Halton Health has three general practices in Warrington, Widnes, and Windmill Hill – Runcorn. Warrington and Widnes are two new and exciting GP-led health centres. Both are open 8am-8pm 365 days a year. The health centres are part of a Government initiative to provide more accessibility and convenience for patients. The health centres see registered or unregistered patients, walk-in or pre-booked. Part of the health centres’ remit is to engage with traditionally hard-to-reach groups such as the homeless. This is varied and interesting work offering something different to traditional general practice. Windmill Hill Medical Centre is a new general practice open Monday to Friday from 8am – 6.30pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am – 1pm. The medical centre sees registered patients only. Halton Health also has a GP service based at the Halton Intermediate Care Unit at Halton Hospital. The service provides GP cover for four hours per day, seven days a week. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation and to be part of a team which is dedicated to promoting high quality patient care. We are looking for GPs who can support, develop and promote the practices, engage with Practice Based Commissioning and Primary Care Trusts, and promote the services to hard-to-reach groups. We offer a salary in the region of £75,000 - £85,000 and the full NHS pension scheme. We also offer protected learning time and support from other clinicians employed in the service, including excellent clinical support from the locally-based Medical Director.
